Expat psy - Counselling & coaching for Expats

Do you live abroad, are you returning Home, or do you feel a bit lost? I’m here to help you tackle the challenges of living abroad and navigate this sense of uncertainty, so you can rediscover your sense of belonging — via video call, wherever you are in the world.

This feeling that no-one really understands

  • You may be going through a period where:

  • you no longer feel ‘at home’ anywhere

  • you have lost your bearings (country, job, relationship, identity…)

  • you feel a mixture of emptiness, confusion and emotional exhaustion

  • you find it hard to look to the future or find meaning again

  • you swing between nostalgia, stress and inner turmoil

  • you feel ‘out of step’ with others, misunderstood

  • you find it hard to integrate into the local culture or settle back in

And despite the fact that “everything is supposed to be fine”, deep down it feels unstable.

Nothing is wrong with what you're feeling !

Major life transitions such as moving abroad or returning to France (or home) often lead to:

  • a loss of internal bearings

  • emotional uprooting

  • a nervous system in a state of constant adjustment

  • a sense of identity in flux

It is not a question of having made the wrong choice, but rather a period of adjustment in the face of profound change

a hybrid and integrative approach

I will support you in:

  • navigating this transition without losing your way

  • easing emotional instability

  • rediscovering your strengths, desires, needs & projects

  • understanding what is happening emotionally

  • thinking an action plan that will help you settle again

I use an integrative approach combining brief and behavioural therapies, mind-body approaches and neuroscience to help you alleviate this unease and rediscover a sense of inner security wherever you are. (MOSAIC® Therapy, ACT therapy, Coaching)

The sessions therefore allow us to work on emotions, the body, and the affirmation of your needs and life choices.

Over the course of the sessions, you will be able to:

  • regain a sense of grounding

  • overcome emotional confusion

  • feel more stable inside

  • ease feelings of nostalgia or emptiness

  • reconnect with yourself in this new phase of life

  • find meaning in what you are going through

The idea is not to try to mourn your ‘old life’ as quickly as possible, but to learn how to navigate this transition without losing yourself along the way.

I've been there too.

I left at 27 yo for what was only supposed to be a six-month trip...which turned into seven years of trying on different lives across New Zealand, Norway, & Canada. It was a constant cycle of the thrill of leaving, the adrenaline of arriving, the sting of loss from afar, and that endless, restless urge to just keep going.

When I finally moved home in 2024, the "reverse culture shock" hit me hard. I felt completely lost & like a stranger in my own life. I was in the middle of my psychotherapy training at the time, so I decided to turn that struggle into my thesis. I really needed to figure out why coming home felt so impossibly hard.

What I found—both in my research and my own life—is that this disconnection isn't a dead end. It’s actually a deep, intense stage of personal transformation. I realized that when you lose your old reference points and no longer fit into your original world, you end up in this state of "inner exile"—and while it’s painful, it’s really just a necessary part of figuring out who you’ve become.
