MOSAIC THERAPY vs EMDR:
A gentle form of therapy to soothe emotions and release emotional blockages
The ideal therapy for finding peace
and a sense
of inner security
MOSAIC® therapy is an approach rooted in trauma therapy and neuroscience, drawing inspiration in particular from EMDR, brief therapies (CBT, IFS) and recent models of nervous system regulation.
Unlike EMDR, MOSAIC therapy does not require clients to recount difficult events in detail. The work is based on: bodily sensations, present-moment emotions and existing internal resources.
The aim is to enable the nervous system to reorganise its responses and gradually return to a more stable and calm state.
This therapy is particularly well-suited to overcoming psychological trauma (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) but also when one feels stuck, overwhelmed or struggling to cope with one’s emotions.

How does it work ?
MOSAIC® therapy is based on the principle that difficult experiences are not stored as “traditional” memories, but as fragments (physical sensations, emotions, images, automatic reactions). When these traces remain active, they can influence our current reactions and lead to anxiety, hypervigilance or emotional blockages, as the nervous system continues to react as if the situation were still present. With MOSAIC®, we work directly with the nervous system and the brain’s natural regulatory mechanisms to update these memories and “reconsolidate” emotional memory.
This helps to reduce the emotional burden associated with memories or current triggers, and to establish calmer, more appropriate responses in everyday life.
MOSAIC® therapy can help you to...
-
reduce the intensity of emotional reactions
-
ease anxiety and stress
-
break out of repetitive patterns
-
overcome a phobia
-
regain a sense of inner security
-
boost your self-confidence
-
feel more emotionally stable

The 4 stages of a MOSAIC therapy session
-
We’ll start with a discussion to explore what you’re going through right now: what’s troubling you, how you’re feeling, and how this manifests in your daily life and in your body. The aim isn’t to analyse everything in detail, but to understand your current experience.
-
Next, we’ll gradually move towards a more peaceful state: an inner sensation you’d like to rediscover (calm, security, stability, confidence…). We use gentle bilateral stimulation (alternating sounds through headphones, eye movements, or tapping on the shoulders or knees, similar to those used in EMDR) to help your brain reprocess emotions and soothe automatic reactions.
- Gradually, you may feel: more distance from the problem, emotional calm, or new, more comfortable internal sensations.
- We always finish with a period of integration and conclusion to stabilise this new state and ensure you leave feeling safe, calmer and more grounded.

Can we have a MOSAIC therapy session online?
Yes, just as with online EMDR therapy, MOSAIC® therapy can certainly be conducted via video call. Remote sessions are just as effective as face-to-face sessions, as the therapeutic work is based on dialogue, the exploration of feelings and bodily sensations, as well as bilateral stimulation adapted to the online format (such as alternating sounds or tapping). Video calls often allow people to feel more at ease, in a familiar and safe environment, which can facilitate relaxation and emotional processing.
